My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miss Phoebe with her fluffy ears!  Just like from the hit show 'FRIENDS' Phoebe is adorable, loyal, sweet, and quirky!  She loves everyone she meets and gets along with all dogs and people.  Phoebe currently lives with 4 other dogs from tiny to large and young to old and has learned how to socialize with all of them.  We have 1 cat who does not want to play, and that makes Phoebe sad because she wants to play with her, however Phoebe does not push too hard to play.

We also have 3 children ages 7-11 and Phoebe loves them all!  She is very playful and still in her puppy stage at less than a year old.  Chew toys are alaways a hit with her.  She is a big fan of water and loves to dig in the water bowl outside, and she has learned that we do not dig in our water bowl inside!  We believe that Phoebe is part husky because she can be vocal at times and she has a good amount of energy.  She also loves to cuddle and thinks that belly rubs are the best in the world!

Phoebe would be a great addition to an active family that can give her plenty of exercise, preferably with another dog sibiling to play with!  This sweet and beautiful girl is fully house trained and crate trained as well.  If interested in this amazing girl, fill out an application with Cody's group!

Applications are at codys_adoption_application.

Cody's adopts dogs in the greater Dallas/Ft Worth area, and does not adopt puppies under the age of six months into apartment homes.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
