Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lawrence has a naturally droopy face. That paired with his calm demeanor sometimes makes him come across as sad. He is a little sad that he doesn’t have a family to call his own…but mostly he just uses this appearance to encourage you to pet him more. He’s very loving and enjoys attention, but he can also keep himself amused by just sniffing around too. Lawrence has a lower energy level and is very easygoing. It doesn’t take much to keep him happy! He’s open to any and all treats and takes them gently from your hand, but he doesn’t seem to know any tricks yet. He’s proven himself to be a great leash walker though. He doesn’t pull at all! We think he’d make a great family dog.

Our regular adoption fee is $100 payable by money order or credit card. The fee covers basic vaccinations, Rabies vaccination, microchip, heart worm testing for dogs, and the spay/neuter surgery.

You will be required to sign to an adoption contract and other paperwork relating to the adoption of your new family member.

Our kennel hours are Monday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday also from 5 pm to 7 pm. We are open Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm and closed on Sunday.

More about this shelter

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
