Meet Rooni, a sweet and shy dog who may initially be reserved, especially around people wearing hats, but he warms up beautifully with a bit of patience. Rooni is highly food motivated-chicken is his favorite treat-and he's quite vocal when he wants attention. His social nature shines through with other dogs, making him a perfect match for a home with a confident, friendly, and social canine companion. While he occasionally pulls on the leash, Rooni loves toys and water, adding a splash of fun to his days. If you're ready to provide Rooni with the time and care he needs, he'll bring endless affection and playful energy to your home!

Fill out a Meet Your Match questionnaire, spend some time getting to know the pet you are considering taking home, and talk to an adoption counselor.
Each animal will leave the Center spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm (dogs) or FeLV/FIV (cats) tested, de-wormed, treated for fleas/ticks, given heartworm preventative if applicable and microchipped.

A leader in animal welfare both locally and nationally, the nonprofit shelter’s mission is to enhance the lives of companion animals and people by encouraging a culture of responsibility and compassion. As an open admission facility, the Center provides animal services and care for any animal in the city of Chattanooga regardless of age, breed, health, and temperament. McKamey has a number of thriving programs to benefit companion animals and people including adoption, foster, rescue, trap-neuter-return for feral cats, and humane education.
