Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Wylie, a young and handsome Dane mix with the brightest brown eyes that tell a story at a glance. Rescued just in the nick of time, Wylie arrived in rough shape, but now he’s in great health and embracing life as a happy pup. At around two years old, Wylie LOVES to play and is brimming with puppy energy.
Wylie craves human companionship but handles alone time well while his humans are at work. He’s crate trained and house trained, although he’s not left unattended just yet. His foster family believes he once had a home but ended up on the streets, fending for himself. Now, Wylie is learning to trust again and making significant progress with his resource guarding.
Wylie adores his toys, especially tough chewer toys since he has a penchant for eating stuffed animals. He’s playful and vocal, thriving with submissive dogs or as a single pet. He loves a good play session and is very vocal during playtime. Highly food motivated, Wylie excels in training sessions, having mastered sit, shake, lay, off, leave it, and down. He’s working on leash manners and learning quickly.
While not directly tested with cats, Wylie pays no attention to neighborhood cats when outside. He would do well with older kids and would love an older child as a playmate, although his resource guarding makes him less suited for small children.
Wylie is a big fan of mealtime and loves curling up at the end of the bed with a bone. He’s a cuddle enthusiast, enjoying gazing into your eyes while snuggling and giving kisses. Initially jumpy, Wylie has grown to love physical attention and is much more receptive to full-body pats. Being part Dane, he has mastered the Great Dane lean and loves standing on his hind legs to give hugs.
All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.

More about this rescue
To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.
To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.
We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
