My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof! Hello, Humans! I’m Lakota, the Malinois with a heart as big as the sky.

Age: 8 years (which, in dog years, means I’ve seen my fair share of sunrises and moonlit nights).

Breed: Malinois (pronounced “mal-in-wah,” but you can just call me “Lakota”).

Energy Level: Picture a lightning bolt wrapped in fur. Yep, that’s me! I’ve got more energy than a squirrel on a double espresso. But guess what? I’m ready to dial it down a notch. Life’s too short to be a perpetual whirlwind.

My Kennel Days: Ah, the familiar scent of concrete and the sound of neighboring barks. That’s been my world—the kennel life. But now, I’m dreaming of soft couches, sunbeams streaming through windows, and maybe even a cozy fireplace. A regular home—that’s my new frontier.

Social Scene: I’ve shared my space with some burly male Malinois. Bros before bows, you know? But ladies? Well, let’s just say I prefer a testosterone-heavy environment. No drama, just tail wags and camaraderie.

Battle Scar: Remember that time I tangled with a dog who thought my ear was a chew toy? Yeah, it cost me an ear, but I wear it like a badge of honor. Stitched up, healed, and ready to rock. My left ear is my conversation starter. “Hey, Lakota, what happened to your ear?” they’ll ask. And I’ll reply, “Oh, just a little souvenir from my wild days.”

Health Check: I’ve been spayed (no more puppy surprises), vaccinated (I’m practically a walking pharmacy), and microchipped (because even a free spirit needs GPS).

Why You Should Choose Me:

  1. Loyalty: I’ll be your shadow, your confidante, your midnight snack buddy. When you’re down, I’ll nuzzle your hand and remind you that life is better with a wagging tail nearby.
  2. Energy Balance: Sure, I can sprint like a cheetah, but I also appreciate a good snooze. Let’s take leisurely strolls, watch sunsets, and share secrets. I promise not to judge your dance moves.
  3. Ears with Stories: My left ear—scarred but resilient—holds tales of adventure. Imagine the conversations we’ll have around the fireplace. “Lakota, tell me about that epic battle!” you’ll say, and I’ll lean in, eyes shining.

What I Need from You:

  • Love: The kind that fills rooms and spills into every corner. Scratch my ears, and I’ll be yours forever.
  • Patience: Transitioning from kennel life to home life might be like learning a new dance. But with your patience, I’ll twirl my way into your heart.
  • Male Companionship: Bros, unite! If you’ve got male dog pals, I’m all in. We’ll form a pack, and our adventures will be legendary.
