Meet Sophie the sassy poodle mix. Sophie is a lot of fun and loves to walk and play. She is a bit independent, but will become a great companion for her chosen people. Sophie came to PACA with horrible eye infections and it was discovered she had entropion (eyelashes that curled inward) which is very painful. PACA had the corrective surgery done for her eyes and she is ready for adoption. Due to the constant infections & pain, and probably frustration from her past owners in administering the eye drops, Sophie has developed sensitivity about her eyes and feet being touched. However, Sophie is making incredible progress and we expect her to be fine with a little time and patience. Sophie has recently been groomed and the groomer said she was a little angel. Sophie would be great in an adult home. Sophie would probably be fine with a male dog that she could boss around.

PACA is a Foster-Based Rescue with no shelter.

We have adoption clinic on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11a-2pm at 6300 San Mateo (along the grass next to Academy Rd) in the southern end of the Spouts Market parking lot volunteer staffing/weather permitting.

The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.
