My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a lovebug who likes to play? Kane's your guy! This sweet 84lb baby loves belly rubs and attention. He happily greets all his human friends before asking for some good scratches. He won't say no to a fun round of play with some squeaky toys or a bone.
Kane has skin allergies that will need to be maintained for the rest of his life. His new owner needs to be willing to put in the necessary time and resources to make sure that Kane remains a healthy, comfortable and happy boy!
Kane did really well when meeting with our helper dog and seems very interested in making puppy friends! He would prefer to meet any new dogs before deciding if they can be besties at home. We recommend bringing any furry friends from home to meet him! He loves to smell all the interesting and important smells on walks and is happiest when he is with his people. This smart boy already knows sit, down, and paw. He can't wait to see what awesome tricks he'll learn in his new home! Sound like match? Bring along the whole family to meet him!

If you'd like to meet our available animals, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
