My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 11 months old

Gender: Male

Breed: Terrier mix

Weight: 37 lbs

Personality: Confident, loving, spirited, puppy energy, that's Queso! He is very friendly with all dogs, cats and kiddos. Queso is a ball of fun. He has the perfect amount of puppy energy balanced with chill. He likes to observe his siblings play while being held as much as likes joining in on the fun. He can be so loving with his kisses and then is ready to be off on his own adventure.

Education: potty trained, still a little excited on leash

Favorite Activities: Being held, play time with siblings, playing with the big dogs, playing in the yard

Looking for: A loving home wanting an amazing pup and ready to commit to training him to be the best boy!

Special needs: Parvo survivor, cleared by the vet!

Adoption Fee: $ 500

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
