Hope is a sweet and outgoing girl who arrived as a stray and sadly was not reclaimed. She`s smart and ready/willing to learn with a new family. We think this girl is going to make an amazing addition to any family! Hope should meet other dogs before adoption, a meet and greet can be set up. She can be tested with cats.
Adoption Fee: $200, includes spay/neuter, and all veterinary care as needed.
If interested in meeting, please stop in during open hours, Tuesday-Saturday 12-5:00 pm. We recommend leaving your dog home for the first meet.

Additional adoption info
If you have an interest in a particular dog or cat, we will have you fill out an adoption application. We then have to review the application. This process is usually completed within a few days. Our goal is to ensure that we have a good match for both the adopter and adoptee. We do ask and check personal references and vet references.
Our adoption fees for dogs are $300 for 6 months and younger, $160 for five years to 6 months, or $80 for six years and older. Adoption fees for cats are five years and younger are $80, and cats six years and older are $60. All animals are current on their vaccinations, have been treated for worms, fleas, ear mites and other parasites (if necessary) and have been spayed or neutered. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm medication. Cats are tested for leukemia/FIV.

The Humane Society of Monroe County (HSMC) was founded in 1954 by Monroe County residents who were concerned for the welfare of the companion animals in our community. For approximately 60 years, the society has operated a shelter where stray, abandoned or surrendered animals receive care – food, shelter, medical attention and love – until they can be placed in a permanent home. The society also promotes the humane treatment of animals through education; attempts to re-unite lost animals with their owners and we have a subsidized low or no cost spay/neuter program for Monroe County residents on disability, Medicaid, social security or other income restrictions (contact the admin. office for more information or to see if you might qualify for this program.)
The HSMC is a non-profit, no-kill organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. We employ a small but dedicated staff to care for the animals, operate the shelter and conduct our outreach programs and events. Currently, the society does not receive government funding. Our budget is comprised of fundraising events, memberships, donations, cage sponsors and adoptions. A dedicated group of volunteers provides invaluable assistance in conducting our community outreach programs.
The Humane Society of Monroe County is not part of, nor do we receive any support from the Michigan Humane Society, American Humane Association or the Humane Society of the United States.
