Meet Mazzie 6907
Mazzie became one of the photographer’s favorite canines even before they had the opportunity to join in a bark park odyssey. At the end of the day, the human walks the shelter corridors greeting the dogs and usually becoming the hotdog man with treats to share. Mazzie quickly learned to welcome his approach with her distinctive true to life hound bay, expressed with nicely tempered anticipation and assurance. When he reached her kennel, 7-year-old Mazzie would be waiting expectantly, standing with civility, and accepting a treat with great courtesy. Once in the park, Mazzie, with hound curiosity, checked out the invisible world of sniffs and when requested, proudly posed with a canine air of invincibility. She then turned her attention to a multi-colored “flying” fish with inquisitiveness and imagination. She may not have realized the fortuitous match of Jonquil’s and bandana, but her Mona Lisa smile made it an artist’s symphony.
