My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Shaggy: Your Loyal and Loving Companion

Meet Shaggy, a resilient pup who's overcome a tough start in life and is now ready to find his forever home. Shaggy is heartworm negative, with all his annual vaccines and rabies shots up to date. Before he joins his new family, Shaggy will be neutered and microchipped, ensuring his health and safety for years to come.

Shaggy is a delightful companion who loves nothing more than exploring the world around him. Whether it's going on long walks or simply enjoying a leisurely ride in the car, Shaggy's zest for life is infectious. He may even tuck his head under the seat for a cozy nap, relishing in the comfort of the dark when he's feeling tired.

Outside, Shaggy is eager to work alongside you, but inside, he longs to be a cherished member of your family. He enjoys playing with his stuffed animals and cuddling up on the couch with you, especially when he's feeling sleepy. Providing him with a blanket to cuddle under adds an extra level of comfort, helping him feel safe and secure.

Shaggy is a well-behaved pup who excels on the leash, except when nature calls and he simply can't wait. In those moments, he may show his playful side by over-sleeping, but it's all part of his adorable charm.

Shaggy has proven himself to be great with older kids and has shown no issues around other dogs or cats. While he may throw a little tantrum when it's time for his shots, a little reassurance and patience go a long way in helping him overcome his fears.

If you're interested in learning more about Shaggy and providing him with the loving home he deserves, please don't hesitate to reach out. He's eagerly awaiting the chance to become a cherished member of your family.

More about this rescue

**Our Story**

It all began with a visit to a shelter, where Thumper, acting out of fear and protection for his little kennel, was nearly passed over. But beneath his barks was the gentlest soul, a dog who simply needed someone to look beyond his initial façade. Thumper's story of survival, having been saved from euthanasia multiple times thanks to the belief of a dedicated shelter worker, resonates at the core of our mission. Since joining our family in 2018, Thumper has not only enriched our lives but has also become a mentor to foster dogs, guiding them through their own transformations with patience and love.

**Our Mission**

At Thumpers Legacy Dog Rescue, we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need. Our mission is to give every dog a chance to lead a happy, healthy life in a loving home. We focus on dogs that are often overlooked - the scared, the shy, the ones that seem too challenging at first glance. Like Thumper, these dogs have boundless love to give, if only given the chance. We remove dogs from shelters that are on the list of being euthanized to give them a second chance at life.

**How We Help**

We provide a rescue for abandoned and unwanted dogs, offering medical care, behavioral training, and the warmth of a nurturing environment. By working closely with volunteers, foster homes, and adopters, we not only prepare our dogs for their forever homes but also raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption and responsible ownership.
