My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Smush, the big-hearted bulldog mix with a personality as hefty as his size! This gentle giant is known for his larger-than-life presence and charming quirks.

Smush's enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of him, and he can be a bit mouthy when he's overexcited, but it's all part of his endearing nature. He's not one for long walks; instead, he prefers the comfort of being by his owner's side or bustling around the house, playing with his beloved squishy toys.

While Smush adores his human companions, he isn't the biggest fan of other animals. He thrives best as the only pet in the household, where he can soak up all the attention and affection.

Currently, Smush is on a diet to shed a few pounds and improve his health. He would thrive in a home that can support his weight loss journey with regular activity and a balanced diet.

With his lovable personality and steadfast loyalty, Smush is sure to bring warmth and joy to any home. Whether he's snuggled up on the couch or happily playing indoors, Smush's big heart and gentle spirit make him a cherished member of the family.

Smush is an All-Star dog! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Smush, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you!

When I arrived at Anderson Humane from Aurora Animal Control, I tested
positive for Heartworm.
The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going
through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours.
If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering
questions and offering support.
The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves
some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is
a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins.
The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will
fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from
animal to animal by mosquitoes.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information,
email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to
help you.
I hope to meet you soon!
