CAPE MAY, NJ: Poor Sandy has been through a lot in her young life and is looking for a patient, loving home so her sweet personality can come out and shine!
Sandy is 1 year old and weighs 28 lbs. In December of 2023, little Sandy found herself abandoned at the chaotic city shelter and unfortunately this was very traumatic for her; she was terrified, completely shut down and quickly ended up on the emergency placement list with only 1 picture of her circulating to save her life. Luckily, Sandy was spotted by a caring rescuer able to foster her and provide the quiet, safe environment Sandy so desperately needed. Sandy was so scared, but her foster had the patience to let Sandy slowly adapt to her new life and she has made amazing progress in the last 3 months! Sandy is so appreciative and is blossoming into a loyal, loving companion ready for her second chance at life. Once she is comfortable, Sandy is affectionate and adoring of her people, frequently snuggling up as close as possible! Sandy is an A+ cuddler and it’s wonderful to see her little tail wag so happily!
Previously, Sandy lived harmoniously with children and a cat and is friendly with other dogs in her foster home. She is still an incredibly shy girl and her new home will need to be patient and understanding of all that sweet Sandy has been through. Slow, steady, and treat-heavy is the way to win Sandy’s heart! She will need to come to you at her own pace, but we promise her gentle affection and adorable face are worht it! Sandy is just the cutest fawn-like lady with the most brilliant ice-blue eyes. Watching her unsure eyes melt into tender hopefulness will truly be a most rewarding experience. Other than her initial shyness, Sandy is a great dog. She is loyal, obedient and super smart! She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Sandy is a great companion who will love you with her entire heart!
Sandy is a great dog who just needs a little extra TLC. Can you give Sandy the gentle love that she needs? If you can open your heart and home to dear Sandy, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org.
Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.
