MEET XENA #3!!

Xena is a 5 year old Border Collie mix, who had a hard start in life. She was found as a malnourished stray in Phoenix in 2020. A wonderful human took her in and cared for her, and Xena has turned into a happy healthy girl full of life. She is potty trained, leash trained, loves to play, loves to swim, and enjoys being around her humans. Recently, she was frightened by fireworks, and began acting out and becoming aggressive towards the other dogs in the home. This was out of character for Xena, who normally does well with other dogs. This sweet, loyal girl deserve a home of her own where she can thrive and have all of your attention. If you are looking for the perfect walking/hiking partner, Xena is the girl for you. All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

More about this rescue

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
