Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Xena!
Xena here! I am totally a princess, but I’m not quite a warrior. Foster mom says I’m more like a little peanut. I’m a wee 7 pounds! In my foster home, I live with two kids, two adults and lots of pups. I do just fine with all this activity, but I’d also love to be an only (spoiled) pup, too. I don't have a problem telling a dog if they are in my space, though. My favorite time of the day is when foster mom finally sits down for the day, and we snuggle. I always beg to come up on the couch, but since I’m too little to jump up on my own, I need a little help. I haven’t met a cat, but I’d probably be ok with them since most cats are bigger than me. I like kids, especially ones who pet me.
I’m perfectly potty trained and on nice days, I like toodle around the yard a bit too after doing my business. I also like to snuggle in my crate, and I’ve got a real nice set up in there - soft bed plus a warm blanket. I don’t enjoy going for long walks - a block or two is enough for me. However, I’d be glad to go longer if you carry me or put me in a stroller. Being a senior now, I have a few health issues I should mention. I have floating patellas (kneecaps) and a bit of a heart murmur. Apparently, these are common for smaller dogs. I take Vetmedin for my heart, but because I’m so small, I only take ¼ of a pill twice a day, and a bottle lasts me a few months. I also don’t have the best vision. I have a cataract in one eye (foster mom says “it gives me character”). But I get around just fine, and I have the cutest head tilt when I’m looking at you. If you have room on your lap, I’d love for us to meet so you can take me home with you!
