Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Have you ever thought "I'd love to have a happy, goofy dog that makes me smile and laugh every day?" Well, if so, act quick as Pumpkin is that dog!
Pumpkin was born approximately July 2023 and came to the shelter an early 2024, underweight, and with a severely embedded cord around his neck. He had surgery, his scars have healed, his fur is almost all the way back, he's gained 15 lbs, and now has the cutest turkey neck from the way his neck was stitched back together.
His weight has leveled off at 45lb. He's doggy/crate/house trained! He lives with a male and female dog and just lives them both so much! This guy is all about fun, playing, and then giving great snuggles when he's tired. An older dog probably wouldn't appreciate his goofiness, he hasn't met cats yet but can if you're interested!
He gets a daily walk and sits to be leashed, he knows to not run out the door when it's open and will stay, he goes to his food bowl and waits when it's time to eat, and he sleeps thru the night! What else can be said, he's all the great things you want in a dog!
His big, goofy ears are representative of his personality. He could be an only dog, but key to his happiness will be lots of fun toys and bones, he'd probably prefer a playmate though. Not enough good can be said about this great, young dog, who had a rough start but never let that affect his personality. He'd love to meet you!
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
