Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Eli is a 6.5 year old Aussie who his people made the hard decision to surrender after he began nipping their toddler. They worked with trainers and don’t believe the behavior was intended to harm their child, but herding instead. Despite their best efforts, nothing was able to change his behavior. They reached out to us over a month ago and drove all the way from Georgia to find a rescue they believed would do right by him and keep him in a low-stress environment.
We haven’t known Eli long but from what we have seen and have been told about him, he’s a super sweet and loving boy and should have no trouble finding a new forever home! As long as there are no small children, he’s the perfect dog!
He’s crate trained, house trained, and has basic obedience. He’s very food motivated but due to his weight we recommend keeping extra snacks to a minimum.
He’s friendly to all humans and good with smaller dogs. He’s good with bigger dogs too after a proper introduction, but he’s a bit fearful of them at first. Cats and other small animals a no-no though.
He does need to lose some weight, but aside from that Eli is totally healthy and ready to be adopted! He’s microchipped, neutered, UTD on his vaccines, prevention, heartworm tested negative, and has a negative fecal test.
