Meet Moose, the indomitable spirit who found his way into our hearts despite facing adversity.
Appearance: Moose is a teddy bear despite his gruff appearance. Moose has unique markings and scars that tell the story of his past. Due to his journey, his right hind leg has a locomotor disability .
Personality: Despite his physical challenges, Moose remains energetic and playful. He has mastered the art of tug-o-war and enjoys spirited battles with his favorite toys. He loves humans and loves to go for a walk. He is incredibly trainable and responds well to positive reinforcement.
Being in an overcrowded Shelter, after an obviously difficult past, has not helped Moose - he currently suffers from cage aggression. This basically means, he will throw himself at the cage door, bark, and behave as if he is the most aggressive beast on the planet until we open the kennel door and remove the barrier. Then, he's a teddy bear! This is not helping his quest to get adopted into a forever home, and we hope you can see past it.
Compatibility: Moose appears cat-friendly. Moose is choosy about his canine playmates but can be friendly with the right dogs. While Moose appears fantastic with children, we recommend that parents supervise playtime to ensure a safe and happy experience for everyone. Moose tends to be fearful of men; this may be due to the past we referenced :(
Health, etc.: Moose has a few physical challenges, but they don't hinder his ability to enjoy life to the fullest. As with all our adoptable pets, Moose is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Other Notes:
Moose's resilient nature and playful spirit make him a joy to be around. He is definitely a staff favourite. He's a young dog with lots of love and energy to share.
Visit: Come meet Moose at the Battlefords Humane Society and see if he's the right fit for your home.

We are committed to helping each potential owner
choose an animal best suited to the owner's life
style. Each animal currently available for adoption has his or her own special story and some have yet to feel the comfort and security of a loving home. Your interest in adopting one of our special friends means that you are a caring
and responsible person. Make no "bones"
about it - adopting a pet is a very
important decision! And, like any
important decision, it requires a
lot of thought and consideration.
