Cheerful, affectionate, intelligent, inquisitive, and spirited! Berniece is a young girl seeking a new foster family and eventually a forever home.
In January 2024, during the bitterly cold days that made every breath painful, Berniece was found. Her survival was uncertain, but she persevered! Thankfully, a caring foster parent welcomed her, providing warmth, nourishment, and stability. Prior to joining her foster mom, Berniece seemed to have limited social exposure. She was apprehensive around other dogs, especially with her foster mom's three Great Pyrenees dogs. The eldest female, the alpha, was not receptive to a new young female in her domain.
For the past three weeks, Berniece has been attending obedience camp, mastering good behavior commands, enhancing her social skills with other dogs, and improving her leash-walking abilities. She is now in search of a new foster home where she can apply her newfound skills and continue her journey towards becoming the best version of herself. Ideally, she would thrive as the only dog in the household, but if there's another dog, a calm and relaxed companion would be suitable. Duck Team 6 will continue to offer obedience training and support during this transition. Berniece is destined to become a devoted and wonderful companion for a fortunate family.
