Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bernie boy is a special guy!
He’s a 12-13ish year older gentleman who found himself at ACCT as a friendly stray. He was noted as easily handled by his finder & originally friendly with the staff at ACCT.
His medical notes from ACCT just stated he had a messy mouth (missing most of his teeth) which unfortunately did not make him a candidate for release due to missing some of his abilities to defend himself outside.
With time he began deteriorating behaviorally in the shelter and was set to be euthanized. We worked to find a foster and lucked out just in time!
Once he settled in we set him up with an appointment for a senior work up with our vet where we found of the following:
-he’s diabetic (though his sugars have been very well maintained)
-some arthritis, particularly in his back legs
-he has a heart murmur that would make dental work too risky so since he is not currently in pain we have opted not to proceed with risking his life for a dental
If there is someone out there willing to give this guy a quiet retirement home and lots of patience as well as financially be able to maintain his insulin regimen and veterinary care. His current insulin is about $130 every 50 days as well as about $50 for the test strips (50 pack) & $8-$10 for the lancets plus whatever vet appointments are needed.
We know it’s a long shot but we are always trying our best to be as transparent & clear on what adopters can expect with our cats, especially financially.
He’s a very deserving boy who has already been through so much! He’s quiet, calm, & generally just likes to hang out & vibe. He makes cute little noises when he wants something. He doesn’t mind other cats at all.
If you or anyone you know would consider this guy, please fill out our application below!
