Hi! My name is Stan. I'm a big, confident boy with a lot of love to give. I'm around 4 years old, and we think I'm a Mal/GSD mix, but who knows for sure? I was found in Tulare, chilling out in a fruit orchard before I met my human friends.
I'm a super easy going boy. I love to go for rides and explore new places and meet new people, espeically the petting kind — seriously, who doesn't? I've seen lots of other dogs when out and about and, while I'm curious about them, I pretty much mind my own business. I prefer the girls but non-confrontational boys may be ok with slow intros. I like going for walks and I don't yank my person around, that would be kind of rude for a distinguished guy like me.
I've got a pretty good resume, if I do say so myself. I'm fully vetted and recently neutered, so I'm ready for all the adventures life has in store for me. I'm crate trained, which means I won't bark up a storm when you need some quiet time. And I'm house trained too, so no worries about any accidents indoors or leaving me alone - I don't mess with your stuff.
I'm a total lover and meet strangers well. I think I'm pretty affectionate, eager to please, and I've got some pretty neat tricks up my sleeve—like heeling, giving high-fives, and plopping down on command. Oh, and I've got this funny habit of walking between your legs. It's like my signature move!
Now, about those treats... I really really like treats. My current foster mom said I take treats like a starving pirahana and may get your fingers - but not on purpose, I don't like fingers. Still, I doubt I could help myself from snatching a treat from a kid if given the chance, so it's best if I live with a family that has older kids. I love kids (recently got mobbed by a Girl Scouts group and loved every minutes of it) but those yummy treats........
I'm looking for a family who can be my leader and guide me as I continue to learn and grow. I'm a big, confident boy, and I need someone who knows their way around large breeds like me. But trust me, I'm worth it—I'll be your loyal companion for life. So if you're looking for an awesome dog like me, look no further!
I'll be waiting in Santa Rosa.

BAGSR is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. BAGSR covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide the love and a soft place to crash.
