My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mr. Spock *** Playful & Sweet ***

>>> You're gonna want to Beam this guy Up!

Meet Mr. Spock! This young, handsome boy is traveling the galaxy searching for a family. Spock is our lovable and playful puppy who is ready to find his forever home! This spunky boy is a 7 month old shepherd mix. He weighs about 40 pounds. He was rescued from a shelter, nearly emaciated and starving for affection though his resilience was apparent almost immediately.

Spock's breed is likely half Shepherd and half "EARS" (LOL). With his striking looks and friendly demeanor, this little boy will surely steal your heart. He has beautiful eyes, a soft coat, and those adorable big ears that make him stand out from the crowd. Spock is an absolute sweetheart who loves to play fetch with tennis balls or stuffed animals. After spending all his energy playing outside, he enjoys cuddling on the couch with his human friends for some much-needed rest and affection. He's incredibly social and thrives on attention from people around him.

Adopting Spock means giving this resilient pup a chance at a happy and healthy life filled with love, playtime, and endless adventures. Don't miss out on the opportunity to welcome this incredible little dog into your home!

>>> I have been...and always shall be... your friend. Live long...and prosper.

This dog is crate trained, housetrained, neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, heart worm negative, on flea and heart worm preventative, and micro-chipped. This dog will REQUIRE A PHYSICALLY FENCED YARD. No apartments or condos for this dog please.

Spock's adoption fee is $200.00 (cash or credit card)

WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ANIMAL YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WILL BE AT THE ADOPTION EVENT. Please email us if there is a specific dog you would like to meet to be sure they will be at the adoption event. We ask that you DO NOT contact PetSmart about our animals. They are kind enough to provide space for our adoption events, but are not involved with our rescue work.

HOW TO APPLY: If you would like to apply for this dog or any of our other dogs, please request an application by clicking the “START YOUR INQUIRY” button.

You can also go directly to our website at www.waganimalrescue.com to fill out an application.

You must be at least 25 years old to apply.

IMPORTANT: An application must be filled out and approved before we will make special arrangements to meet a dog. A volunteer will review your application and contact you if your application is approved or if further clarification is required. We will make every attempt to contact APPROVED applicants within 5 business days of application submission (M-F), but this will depend on the number of applications received. If you do not answer all questions then your application may not be processed. WAG Animal Rescue adopts to homes that are best fits for our animals' needs, and not on a first-come, first-served basis. We are an all-volunteer organization, and regret that we do not have the resources to contact applicants that are not approved. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Mostl animals ready for adoption are current on vaccinations, fixed, have tested negative on heartworm (dogs) and feline leukemia / FIV (feline AIDS) (cats), and have been dewormed.

Adoption fees provide some recuperation of costs associated with providing in-home and necessary veterinary care while the animal is in our program. Oftentimes the standard adoption fee is less than what we've in incurred in costs. The benefit of adopting from an organization that provides in-home foster care is that the animal's behavior has been evaluated by their care providers in a natural living environment, rather than oftentimes unpleasant surroundings of a shelter. WAG foster care providers care for the animals as if they are their own, and learn to know the animal's likes and dislikes, ability to co-exist with other animals, ability to tolerate children, and so forth.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

More about this rescue

Since 1988, WAG has helped find new homes for thousands of homeless animals. WAG has expanded and currently assists animals throughout the entire Southeast area of Michigan.

Our mission is to further the cause of animals and educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering. Our members believe in the importance of life, human and animal alike.

Our Goals

To find permanent, loving homes for adoptable animals, whether they are unclaimed strays, or relinquished by their owners; To assist in the education of the public about the care needed by companion animals and the benefits to humans of sharing their life with a companion animal; To help educate the public about the benefits (both to animal and the public) of spaying and neutering companion animals.
