Tramp, a 1 year old, man about town, silver and platinum yorkie was recently rescued from the streets of a small Arkansas town. Everyone knew Tramp, as he wandered the streets of the town, but no one knew who he belonged to. After diligently trying to find out who owned him, a good Samaritan, couldn’t stand it any longer, scooped him up and got him into rescue so he can, at long last, find a home of his own. Due to no one really taking care of him, he did test positive for heartworms and is now on the “slow kill” doxycycline protocol to take care of that problem. Tramp is on the larger end for a Yorkie, weighing in around 14 pounds. He is good on a leash, rides well in a car, and is very social, getting along well with everyone, both two and four legged acquaintances. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard as he is young and active. Tramp has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccinations. His adoption donation is $655 which includes a $165 transport fee. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
