Meet Cory, a lively and independent feline resident of our shelter. Cory's independent nature doesn't hinder her sociability. She's a favorite among her feline roommates, demonstrating a knack for making friends with other cats. Cory also has a special affinity for children, making her an ideal family pet. However, she's not a fan of dogs, so a canine-free home would suit her best. Cory's playful spirit and curiosity make every day an adventure. Her independent yet sociable nature ensures she'll be a source of joy and companionship. Adopt Cory and let her bring a playful spark into your life.

You’ll meet an Adoption Counselor to go over applications and discuss the animal you’re considering. We work with you to ensure your family, home and new family member is a perfect fit.
2. We’ll review all the documents and permissions (support from other adults in home, landlord permission and home ownership verification).
3. If your adoption is approved, your new pet can go home with you the same day providing they have had their spay/neuter surgery. If they haven't had their surgery yet, we will let you know when their surgery is scheduled and you can usually pick them up the next day.

For 133 years, the Capital Area Humane Society has been sheltering homeless animals, fighting animal cruelty and neglect, and offering programs to address the needs of animals in our community. More than 92 percent of our funding is provided by donations and fees for services. We are not a government agency, and we do not receive general operating support from national organizations. The Capital Area Humane Society relies on the support of private donors and volunteers to make our work possible.
Since 1883 the Capital Area Humane Society has been dedicated to providing only the highest quality of care for everyone we serve, animals and people alike. We are a team of experts—skilled, caring and compassionate people dedicated to our mission of fighting animal cruelty, helping animals in need and advocating for their well-being.
Our Mission
To fight animal cruelty, help animals in need and advocate for their well-being.
Our Vision
All animals live free of suffering and all companion animals are valued members of loving and caring families.
