Poor Ralphie was found outside in the blistering cold, trying to survive. A kind couple took him in until rescue could be found. He had a horrible ear infection and wounds on his face from scratching, and was very malnourished. Upon further inspection after receiving a dental, we found that he had also been shot and had a bullet fragment lodged in his jaw, which has since been removed. Life on the streets had not been kind to our sweet boy. He is FIV+ (no surprise there), but thankfully he's healthy and can live a very long, happy life with good care. It can only be transmitted to other cats via a deep bite wound, and fortunately Ralphie is a lover, not a fighter. He currently lives with other cats that do not have FIV and gets along quite well with them.
Ralphie is a shy but gentle and sweet natured soul who wants nothing more than to be loved and cared for. He will need some time to acclimate to a new home given his past experiences, but he's very docile and enjoys petting and affection. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is very mild mannered and quiet. He's put on some much needed weight and is a big boy now. Just look at that face and those cheeks - isn't he a hunk?! He enjoys canned food and treats, but soft beds and cubbies where he can safely hang out and chill are his favorite thing in the world. I'm sure he's just happy to have a warm, comfy spot to sleep on vs. the cold ground.
Ralphie would do best in a quiet home without kids and with another friendly, easy-going cat who can show him the ropes and teach him how to be a cat. He is neutered, chipped, and current on vaccinations. Now all he needs is the perfect forever home!
