My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bella! This 6-and-a-half-year-old Terrier blend weighs 25 lbs. Are you looking for a loving and loyal companion to stay by your side throughout the day? Bella is your gal!

  • General Behavior: Bella is a happy and easygoing pooch that loves her human with all her heart! She is content as long as her human is around, and she has a comfy blanket to snooze on. She is quite gentle and laid-back, making her a wonderful addition to a loving household.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Beautiful Bella is a huge foodie! She enjoys munching on carrots, dog treats, and dental chews. She gets excited when she sees her treats and will wiggle her butt and tail in pure glee. Bella does not like when her humans leave her at home and gets quite sad. She'd much rather spend time with her family, getting snuggles, than be alone.

  • Training: This happy girl has good basic manners and walks well on a leash. She does well with her housetraining when let out frequently. At night, she is content sleeping in her comfy dog bed until morning.

  • Medical: Bella is currently on medication to help control her anxiety, especially when left home alone. The cost of this medication is approximately $8 per month. She also takes daily Apoquel for allergies, costing approximately $90 per month. Aside from this, Bella is a healthy pooch that will just require her monthly heartworm and flea preventative.

  • Other Animals: Bella very much prefers her humans over any canine friends. She would do best in a home with no other dogs. She has not been introduced to any cats at this time.

  • Children: Bella is a gentle girl, even when playing! She would make a great addition to a family with children.

  • Home: Bella will require a single-family home without any directly connected neighbors. Due to her frequently vocalizing her dislike for being left alone, it would be best that Bella have a family that is home more often than not, that can provide her with the love, comfort, and attention that she deserves and craves.

  • Grooming: As a short-haired pooch, Bella will not require frequent grooming, other than regular baths and nail trims.

  • Overall: Bella is a sweet and happy girl with so much love to give to her people. A person looking for a loyal and laid-back companion would be a perfect fit for Bella!

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
