Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Notes: 03-13-06 Fisher was transferred to us from another rescue after being retired from a commercial breeding operation on 01-25-06. He needs a quieter environment so he can learn more about life in a home setting.
Fisher is H/W neg., fully vaccinated including Rabies, altered & dental was done. He is also microchipped. He is said to be 7 yrs. old.
This is what the other rescue has to say about Fisher--
"Fisher is a wonderful little old man. At the age of seven, he is playful, nosey & quick to learn. He is very busy playing with new friends & toys, or rooting in the dog beds. He loves other dogs, & while still cautious of human hands coming toward him, loves being petted & scratched. He is good with kids, but would love a more settled life & owner."
We have been told that Fisher has chronic ear problems & interdigital cysts. We are also told that he uses a doggy door, is housebroken.
We will have to verify his house manners as our rescue does not have a doggy door, just a doggy door person.
He rode very quietly in the vehicle in a pet taxi.
03-13-06 As Fisher just arrived in our rescue, we will be taking inquiries. He will need to visit our vet for a check-up. We must also evaluate his likes & dislikes. He has already found that lying beside the computer desk suits him fine. He tends to mumble a bit, as if trying to communicate to us.
Note 03-16-06 Fisher has been cat tested, tends to ignore T.C., Top Cat. He also goes to the door, scratches to get out as he can't find a doggy door, must wait for his doggy door person to respond.
Fisher would be wonderful for a widow or widower. Miss your spouse going about the house mumbling? Well, Fisher would fit right in. He goes about "mumbling," will sleep in a "road-kill" position, & brings us so much laughter. He is wonderfully friendly! He is, at times, a bit fearful of the approach, which is consistent with retired breeding dogs. No more breeding for him. He wants to be in the midst of any action, exploring, learning, "mumbling" if he thinks you are ignoring him.
Update 03-17-06 Fisher visited Doc Johnson, weighing in at 11.6 lbs. He has dry skin which may improve on the supplements we have been giving him. We will also be using a special shampoo.
We were quite surprised to find his teeth in need of a fresh dental. This happens with dogs that have not had good nutrition in their early years & clean up after themselves living in a crated environment. Doc had time, thus did the dental with extractions. Doc checked his ears, no mites were found. Yeah!! He did flush out a bit of tarry crud residue. His heart & eyes were just fine, not any evidence of cataracts yet, thus could well be just 7 yrs of age. He is extremely active, no signs of slowing down.
