My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A PUPPY:

WE KNOW LITTLE ABOUT BACKGROUND – Their Mom was brought into our system from the owner, we they turned 9 weeks old.

BREED :  UNKNOWN – Best guess: Small Terrier Cross, Mom weighs 9 pounds.

SIZE:   We can NOT predict the size of these dogs.  Safe to say – Most likely will remain under 15 pounds as Mom is only 9 pounds.

THEY POOP AND PEE A LOT:  Be prepared.
Typically, a puppy can control its bladder one hour for every month of age. So if your puppy is 2 months old, it can hold it for about two hours. Don't go longer than this between bathroom breaks or they're likely to have an accident.  These puppies do try to go on a pee pad.  Foster will begin transitioning to potty breaks outdoors.

THEY WILL MOST LIKELY SHED.

IF you work away from home—you will need a patient care giver for your new addition in your absence.

THESE PUPS absolutely need training, exercise, AND a lifetime committment.

It is the responsibility of puppy adopters to continue and complete the puppy shot/maintenance protocols.  These pups have had their first puppy shot and are dewormed (you will also need to follow up on  deworming).

Puppies will need at least two more boosters and a rabies vaccine in the coming weeks with boosters again yearly.  Your vet may recommend other vaccines in the future; such as lyme, influenza etc.

You MUST sign a contract agreeing to have your puppy spayed/neutered at an age recommended by your veterinarian.  You must provide Haven to Home with proof of SPAY/NEUTER at an agreed upon date in the future.

ASK yourself:

  • Can I afford to have my puppy spayed/neutered?
  • This dog may live to be 15-20 years old. Do I really want to make this possible lifetime commitment?
  • If my pet gets sick or injured can I afford the medical treatment? (In some cases this could be for the duration of my pet's life.)
  • Am I home enough to give this pet the proper attention and training that it needs?
  • What will I do with the dog if we go away on vacation?
  • Can I afford the adoption fee?
  • Can I afford the cost of monthly flea and heartworm preventative?

If you are interested in adopting one of our pups, please submit an application.  Our rescue dogs are placed in homes based on the best possible match for dog and human.
