My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cheeto is a handsome DSH buff/orange tabby male born approximately 1/31/2024.

Cheeto, along with his mom and 5 siblings, was rescued by a good Samaritan who contacted NBCR for help getting this little family vetted and adopted into loving homes. Shortly thereafter, he and his brother, Chase, were adopted together. Sadly due to changes in their adopter's family, they were recently returned to us.

Cheeto is the extrovert of the pair, full of personality and charm. He loves being close to his humans, especially at night when he snuggles right up against your legs to keep you company. Cheeto’s affectionate and outgoing nature makes him a joy to have around, and he’s always ready to brighten your day with his playful spirit and sweet demeanor.

Chase, on the other hand, is a little more reserved but just as loving in his own way. He enjoys staying close, often nearby while quietly “marching in place” and making biscuits with his paws. This gentle and calm boy takes comfort in familiar spaces and would thrive in a home where he can bond with his humans at his own pace. Chase may be quieter, but his sweetness and unique habits make him a wonderful companion.

Chase and Cheeto are bonded brothers who get along well with other cats and are ready to find a loving home where they can stay together and bring double the joy.

Cheeto is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our focus is to place animals in loving, permanent homes where they will be cared for responsibly. Potential adopters or fosters are screened, up to and including home visits. We reserve the right to refuse placement of an animal for any reason. We thank you for understanding.

Adopters must be 21 years or older and willing to invest the time and money required to care for a pet. In addition to providing love and attention, regular medical care is required. Please ask if you would like more information about veterinary fees and costs.

Our animals come from a variety of situations. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.

If you feel that you are ready to adopt, please e-mail adoptions@nbcrtx.org for prompt attention. A NBCR adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an interview.
