My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Xena is a bright, perceptive austrailian kelpie/shepherd  mix, we think!   Agile, she can climb a chain link fence, out of curiosity, and go exploring but ideally she wants you near so she can  be your loyal companion.  A wooden privacy fence would be ideal, but not required if you want to make her part of your pack.  Great on a leash and very affectionate, we think Xena will do best with someone who understands the breed and has experience with intelligent, inquisitive dogs with some  herding instincts, to keep her happy.  She currently spends her days in a 4x10 kennel with very little time out, at our local animal control.  She loves playing with other dogs especially male dogs, but  settles after play time and enjoys  affection and chilling with you.  She is truly a delightful character to behold and these pictures don't do her justice. She is much smaller than she looks, at 42lbs.  She is also house trained and estimated to be around 3-4yo.     Currrent on shots, spayed,  and microchipped, she is ready to join your family!   The perfect dog to keep you company and keep you healthy as a walking buddy!    To make  Xena part of your pack,  apply to adopt her at buttsmutts.com.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 foster based- all volunteer organization, Our desire is to spay and neuter and place our abandoned/owner surrendered dogs in furever loving homes We are in a rural area where dogsd are tossed aside - loving dogs - puppies - and it is up to us as a community to rescue these loving souls whose only desire is to please their humans! We work on socializing these dogs so they are better able to fit into a home with children, other animals, At present we have a small shelter - we are working on expansion! BUt we are overcrowded and determined not to euthanize dogs just because of space. We vet our dogs completely so they are ready to ease into their new life and just be loved on
