FOSTERED IN: Tinley Park, IL 60447
ESTIMATED DOB: 12/2016
COLOR/BREED: Black and White Tuxedo Shorthair
KIDS: Likely
DOGS: Unknown
CATS: Some
HISTORY:
Sugar Ray ended up visiting a feral colony - but the caretaker quickly realized he was not feral.
ABOUT:
Sugar Ray is an affectionate guy who loves attention and doesn’t mind being picked up and carried. He loves having his head and face scratched, but his foster has yet to find a place he does not enjoy having pet! Sugar Ray is outgoing and confident and is happy to greet visitors when they come over. Although he loves attention, he is not needy and won’t have any trouble if you work outside of the home or occasionally have long or irregular hours. He’ll be happy to entertain himself and watch the birds while you are gone.
Sugar Ray is a bigger cat, but he does still have a playful side and enjoys catnip mice, kicker toys, and balls in tracks on occasion. He enjoys having naps in the cat trees or in bed with his foster mom. Be warned, his foster mom says he snores a little bit :) His foster mom feels he is just so happy to be safe and loved.
Sugar Ray is not being fostered with any children, but his foster said he is very good with people and thinks he would do fine in homes with children. Sugar Ray is being fostered with other cats, he gets along well with most, but there is one male he doesn’t get along with, so he may do well with some cats, but not every cat. Sugar Ray’s foster thinks he would be completely content as the only cat who gets to enjoy all the love and attention. Sugar Ray is not being fostered with dogs, so we do not know if a home with dogs will be appropriate for him.
Sugar Ray is FIV+

More about this rescue
Lulu’s Locker Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer-run companion animal rescue working to bring to light the plight of black cats and dogs in shelters as well as the misconceptions surrounding FIV cats. We aim to lower the euthanasia rate of these animals by educating the public and providing foster care as we seek out permanent homes. We are committed to the protection of the misjudged and wrongly stereotyped through compassion and respect, which we believe both animals and human beings deserve.
We are based out of Frankfort, IL, and rescue cats and dogs in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
