Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Luna: Your Elegant Companion Awaits!
Introducing Luna, a 5-year-old spayed female who’s as affectionate as she is charming. With her windblown hair and graceful movements, Luna could easily be mistaken for a movie star, captivating everyone with her unique beauty and personality.
Luna is always up for a good time. She's selective about playing with other dogs. However, she prefers to keep her food all to herself, letting her furry friends know if they dare to sneak a bite! Her delightful bark is a symphony of seduction, inviting you into her world of elegance and charm.
Luna is looking for someone who appreciates her sophistication and sweetness—a true companion who can match her style. If you’re seeking a classy canine friend who will fill your life with joy and affection, look no further. Luna is ready to share her heart with the right person.
Adopting Luna is not just about finding a pet; it’s about saving a life. When you choose to adopt, you give a deserving dog like Luna a second chance at happiness. You’ll experience the unconditional love and loyalty that only a rescue can offer. Plus, you’ll be making room for another dog in need, contributing to the vital mission of reducing the number of homeless pets.
If you’re ready to welcome a sophisticated and charming companion into your life, Luna is here waiting for you. Don’t miss out on the chance to make this elegant lady a part of your family!
Contact us today to meet Luna and discover the joy of adopting a rescue dog! 🐾❤️
Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. Average weight can be 100lbs. or more. They bark, shed and have a wanderlust, so secure fences are a must have. They are NOT off leash dogs and a Pyr off leash is called a "dis'a'Pyr". Some Pyrs do well with other dogs and some don't because by the virtue of their breed traits they were bred to keep out intruders and can consider some dogs as intruders. While they make wonderful pets and family dogs, they aren't for everyone so be sure to understand and learn about the breed traits of this breed or any breed you might be considering.

Applicants have to fill out an application. Go to http://www.spgpc.com/adoptionprocess.htm The application consists of 4 pages and 60 questions relating fenced yards, whether they have had this breed before or large dogs. Three references are required, one from their veterinarian, one from someone they've gotten a dog from before (if applicable) and a personal reference. If the application looks good, then we proceed to the references. If the references are good then we schedule a home study to make sure the dogs will thrive in that environment. Finally we engage the applicants into a contract that spell out their responsibility to the dog and us and our responsibility to them and the dog they are adopting. We then assign a mentor to help them through the transition period and a 1 yr membership to the club. Whether they maintain the membership in force or not we are still a resource to them for the life of the dog. And should life happen, we always take our dogs back.

More about this rescue
We belong to a breed club and take in Great Pyrenees and Great Pyrenees mix dogs. Once a dog is taken into our program, it is restored to health, brought current on all vaccines, micro chipped, had microscopic fecal exams and treated for parasites and worms and had a heart worm test. If positive they are treated before making adoptable and if negative, they are put on a heart worm monthly preventative as well as a preventative for fleas and ticks. All dogs are groomed prior to adoption and are in good health.
