Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chase is a purebred chihuahua who, we were told, was born on 6/2/2020. Chase was surrendered by his owner because he would not stop marking in her RV. She did have other dogs and he may have felt the need to mark his territory there. Because she was in such a small space and was older, she couldn't deal with this behavior. She had only had Chase for about a year and we have no prior knowledge of his life prior to that except that he was not neutered when she got him. She did get him neutered in October of 2023 so he was neutered later in life. He may require a belly band inside or he may stop marking altogether in his new home. We can't make any promises either way so please expect that this could be a permanent behavior or something that you may need to work with when considering Chase. As far as his personality, this boy is the sweetest! He is super friendly and loves attention. He acts like he has never met a stranger and jumps right in without hesitation, ready for some love. He has done well with other dogs (so far he has only been with dogs around his size so not sure how he would feel about larger dogs). We think he would do fine with cats since he's only in the 7 pound range and most cats will be as big or bigger than he is plus he's just a happy go lucky little dog. Chase would be fine with children but because of his smaller size, older children would be best. Chase can be a barker when excited but I wouldn't say he's an overly yappy dog as long as he is with you or being entertained. He hasn't really barked excessively since he arrived with us on April 1st 2024. We haven't had Chase long but we already see his great potential to be a wonderful, fun companion to any family! Chase saw the vet on 4/1/24 and received a clean bill of health on everything (exam, heartworm test and fecal check). He had no health issues that need to be addressed. We started him on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and flea control. He weighed 7 pounds as of 4/1/24 and is perfect in every way!
If interested in giving Chase his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Chase's adoption fee will be $250 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Chase based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
