My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PANTERA is a wonderful dog who has waited patiently for her forever home!!

She has great tenacity and strength which helped her overcome despair and malnutrition through abandonment. FHSTJ was lucky enough to rescue her in 2021 before it was too late.

Pantera is around 45 pounds, 5 years of age, spayed and fully vaccinated; Pitbull mix.

Pitbull mixes do have their diehard fans! Undeniably, Every dog deserves a chance to be understood and appreciated for their individual personality and traits.

PitBull mix dogs have this amazing love of people! These dogs are indeed remarkably affectionate, and crave human attention and get along well with other dogs. They are wonderful cuddlers and nothing beats a belly rub. In fact, most Pit Bulls mixes think they are lap dogs!

Pantera has a lot of love to give and longs for a family who can provide her with the affection and attention she craves. She deserves a warm and loving home where she can feel cherished as a member of the family!!!

Additional adoption info

We take great care in being sure that each adoption is a good fit for both the animal and the adopter. Once the adoption is finalized, after a 1 week trial period, we follow up with the adopter (sometimes more time is needed) making sure that the pet is well adjusted to its surroundings and its new owner.
We also ask that they take the adopted pet to their Vet to have the pet checked out even though we have done so prior to the adoption.

Go meet their pets

We have adoption events almost every weekend. Our Adoption events take place at Petco & Petsmart, our adoption partners. We also participate in other adoption events in the city of San Diego, CA, i.e., the Doggy Street Festival (at Liberty Station) as well as all the events sponsored by the Animals Support Foundation, that take place in Grossmont, San Diego.

More about this rescue

The greater Tijuana area of 3 million people and thousands of abandoned street animals needs more individuals doing rescues and organizing neighborhood spay events. FHSTJ Does not run a shelter. Instead, it supports grass roots organizations and individual rescuers. This allows us to serve many more animals at any given time, due to this unique system of support. This is accomplished by giving financial support to rescuers and groups which could not function without the generosity of FHSTJ donors.
In summary, we support street rescues, mass spay and neuter clinics, pet owners with extremely limited resources needing veterinary care for their animals as well as public education programs, adoption programs for rescuers, and a pet food distribution program for animals in need.
