My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a feline friend who's a bit more on the shy side, but with a heart of gold waiting to be discovered? Meet Reese, a beautiful bobtail with stunning circular stripes and markings, and a personality as unique as his appearance. For Reese, finding the right home is imperative.

Reese's journey hasn’t been easy. He's faced fears that many of us couldn't comprehend, but through patience and understanding, he's blossomed into a charming companion in his own right. Reese might seem like a cat who prefers the shadows over the limelight, but beneath his initial apprehension lies a playful spirit and a capacity for love that's just waiting to be unlocked. While he is still learning to trust humans and may initially run and hide, when patiently reaching out to him with love and affection this handsome guy will snuggle right into your arms showing just how much he craves love and security.

For Reese, finding the right home is paramount. He thrives in environments that are quiet and laid-back, free from overwhelming stimuli that might trigger his anxiety. As such, he would do best in a household with adults only, where he can feel safe and secure as he continues to build his confidence and form bonds at his own pace. Reese is particularly fond of small dogs, often seeking them out for companionship. This special boy needs to be adopted into a home that already has a resident cat with motherly instincts. Reese desperately wants to be social and craves the company of other pets. He loves to follow his foster mom’s cat around the house and will often affectionately rub up against the small dog.

Reese enjoys engaging in playful antics with his feline friends and is always up for a game of chase or a romp with his favorite toys, whether it's ribbons, springs, or pom poms. Lounging in his tree house is another one of his favorite activities.

While Reese may initially shy away from the human touch, those who have had the privilege of gaining his trust know just how rewarding it can be. His foster mom has been working tirelessly to help Reese overcome his fears, and the progress he's made is truly heartwarming. He no longer hisses at her, and he's even begun to relax in her presence, often lying within a couple of feet of her.

Despite his initial hesitance, Reese is not without his moments of vulnerability and affection. There's something incredibly touching about how he falls asleep when gently petted, a small but significant gesture that speaks volumes about his capacity for trust and his desire for connection.

If you're someone who possesses patience and a deep understanding of the power of gentle encouragement, then Reese could be the perfect match for you. He's a cat who's come a long way on his journey to finding happiness and belonging, and with the right person by his side, there's no limit to the love and joy he has yet to share. Are you ready to open your heart to Reese and give him the forever home he deserves?

Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in Forever Fortunate Felines.  We are very happy to have the opportunity to match you with your purr-fect cat-panion!

Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent.  We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level.  This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family.

In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here:
http://www.foreverfortunatefelines.org/adopt

Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue.  Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten.

Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day.  Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet.  We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier.  If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day.  If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $10 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home.  We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.

Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age.  We are able to PayPal or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.

We have streamlined our adoption process to make it easy!  Everything from the application, to payment, to the contract is online.  Additionally, all of the cats records will be placed in your free Petlovers account at petstablished.com to keep organized.
