omeone put a flea collar on Carmen while she was living on the street. They must have done it when she was a kitten because by the time she was trapped it was so tight it was constricting her breathing. Good reminder: flea collars are dangerous both because they aren't usually breakaway, and because they contain chemicals that can be deadly to cats. If you love cats, don't half-ass it with a cheap flea collar.
Now that Carmen is safe inside, her personality is out in full. She is enthusiastically friendly! She wants to be near you all the time and will loudly let you know it. She loves people, she is less sure about other cats so would probably be best in a solo cat home. Carmen is about 11 months old and has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She tested positive for FIV but with good nutrition and vet checkups she shouldn't need any special care. Let us know if you're interested in adopting Carmen!
