Description:
***Needs a Foster Home***
This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.

Hi, I'm Udon, a beautiful Husky/Shepherd X inside and out who is in need of a new home as sadly my owner passed away. My owner's mom tried to take care of me and my brother Ramen, but she was too depressed. In addition her landlord threatened her with animal control if we stayed.

You can tell us apart as my left eye is brown and my right eye is blue, both Ramen's eyes are brown.

I do great around people, children, other dogs and cats too. I was at a mobile where they had ducks, goats, sheep and horses. Although I was intrigued, I did not lunge or bark at them.

I was fortunate to go to a home overnight during our evacuation from the surrounding fires. They called me a spectacular boy who was the perfect houseguest. I was gentle and calm the entire time I was there. I was curious but respectful and listened to whatever I was asked. In that home was a little dog and 2 cats. I was completely respectful of the little dog and the cats. We all hung out together and did great. When we were outside in the yard, one of the cats ran and I playfully gave chase, but it was clear to them I meant no harm, but they corrected me from doing that anyway. They also said I was house trained, no accidents. When asked, I gracefully and agreeably did the commands sit, paw, down and stay. They can't believe I haven't found my forever home yet.

I take treats very gently, walk well on a leash and do well in a crate for car rides. I need sturdy fencing as I can get over a 4 foot fence when I get bored/lonely. My favorite things are being with my person, playing with toys, cuddling and getting belly rubs. A CARL volunteer describes my energy level as calm and confident.

If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.

More about this rescue

Canine Adoption and Rescue League is a 501(c)(3) Private Non-Profit No-Kill Organization. We rely on donations and do not receive government, state, or city funding. We operate almost entirely by volunteers.

Since 1996, Canine Adoption and Rescue League has rescued and placed thousands of unwanted, sick, abandoned, and homeless dogs. Dogs in our adoption program are placed in pre-screened, loving and secure homes. We make a lifetime commitment to all of our dogs.

Canine Adoption and Rescue League receives hundreds of calls from people who must find a home for a stray, a litter of puppies or even a family pet.

Canine Adoption and Rescue League's mission is to advocate for animal welfare, seeking to end the needless deaths of companion animals through our adoption, education, and outreach programs.
