Adorable, sweet, friendly Lily Belle is all that a wonderful, little Shih Tzu girl should be. What makes her extra special is that, despite her tragic story and her blindness, Lily Belle is bright, very engaging, and full of spunk. This amazing beauty was neglected, and at some point, surrendered to another shelter. She was very matted, had fleas, and had limited, if any, vision. From that shelter, she was adopted about 1-2 years ago, but then surrendered again, this time to us, due to financial hardship.

Lily Belle is about 8 1/2 years old and 13 pounds. Other than her eyes, she is in good condition. She has adjusted quickly and very well to being at our shelter. Lily Belle is lively and loves to cuddle in a cozy lap for affection. Her silly, playful side has also emerged and is so cute. This resilient, darling girl, after being neglected and moved from home to home, especially being blind, certainly deserves a safe, stable, loving home, for the first time in her life. Submit Application

The first step in adopting from Shih Tzu Rescue is to fill out an application on our website at shihtzurescue.org

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Once your application has been approved we will schedule an appointment for you to visit our shelter and dogs and take home with you.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract that must be completed and approved. We require vet and personal references as well home checks. Our normal response time is approximately 7 to 10 working days. Our Adoption Committee works very hard to place our dogs in environments where they will be most likely to succeed. Please understand that we have more applications than we do dogs and that if you do not hear from us within that timeframe, we currently do not have a dog who we feel would match your needs.

Our fee includes neuter or spay, all shots, and snap test for heartworm/erlichia/lyme. We take care of whatever their medical needs might be before they are adopted. WE ADOPT TO ALL OF FLORIDA AS WELL AS OTHER STATES. WE DO NOT SHIP
