Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zari was found in the Iron Horse neighborhood of Warrensburg in March of this year and brought in as a stray. Despite being microchipped we were unable to make contact with the previous owners. While Zari is not the biggest fan of other dogs, he is fantastic with people! He is food motivated, eager to please, and is pretty active. With moderate to high energy levels, this golden boy loves romping, running, playing, and of course going for walks! Zari is a five year old male yellow Lab. The perfect furry addition to your home and heart.

Adoption Process
Old Drum Animal Shelter's adoption philosophy is to place the right animal in the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is to pick out your new family member! All available animals can either be viewed online or at the shelter during our hours of operation. Staff are always available to help answer questions about the animals and to help point you toward an animal that would be the best fit for your home. Once you have decided on an animal, the next step is to fill out the Adoption Application.
After the application has been completed, staff will review your application to make sure the pet you have applied for is a good fit for your home and family. Our goal is to make lifetime placements into loving fur-ever homes. We do this by focusing on the individual animal’s personality and needs as well as the adopter’s expectations of the pet, their lifestyle, living situation (housemates, children, other pets) and ability and desire to care for the pet that they have chosen. We also make sure the animal is up-to-date on all of his/her shelter provided medical work such as vaccinations, parasite control, spay/neuter, as well as prepare a custom adoption package before sending your new pet home.
Shelter staff will review the adoption packet with you, collect the adoption fee (cash or check only), and assist you if you have any further questions or concerns.
Some things to consider:
* All payments must be cash or check only.
* Cats must leave the building in a cat carrier. Old Drum & Friends Animal Shelter does sell cardboard cat carriers for an additional $5 fee.
* All dogs must leave with their own correctly fitting collar and leash. Shelter staff can assist you in sizing the collar. Old Drum & Friends Animal Shelter does not offer the option to purchase collars/leashes on site.
* The shelter does reserve the right to refuse an adoption if we feel it is not in the best interest of the adopter or the pet. In these cases, Old Drum Animal Shelter staff will notify you that the adoption has been canceled and may discuss alternate pets that may be a better match.
