Midori, who is about 11 years old, is one of The Pet Connection's longest-term dogs. She came to us from Unleashed Pet Rescue almost 10 years ago with the understanding that she'd probably remain with us for life, but her rehabilitation went so well that she's most certainly adoptable and deserves to know a real home as a senior. Please read about Midori and consider giving her the gift of a home.
I'm Midori! Not the sweet liquor kind of Midori, but the sweet dog Midori!
Not to boast or anything, but I've been called "a good listener," "lovely," "gracious," "wonderfully silly," and "obedient." Pretty nice, right? I love to be with my people, so if you're inside, I'll want to be inside with you. If you're chilling in our yard, I'll be chillin' with you! Maybe we can play with toys while we're hanging out? I do think my toys are pretty awesome. After we're done playing, we could snuggle on the couch.
Speaking of good dogs, aren't you so done with unruly puppy behavior? I'm past that puppy stage, so I know to do my business outside and I love hanging out in my crate. I'm not destructive in the house at all. In fact, I'm what the folks around here call a "great house guest"!
I've had time to think about my perfect home and I've decided it would be one with only adults (those little humans are a lot like puppies, now that I think about it. . . ) with no cats, and probably no other dogs living with me, although I have gotten along with other dogs, big and small, after a slow intro. I really want some special person (or people!) to love me. I promise to love them right back.
Think we might be perfect together? Just call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 so we can chat a little more and get a meeting set up. I'm in Beloit, Kansas, right now, but The Pet Connection will happily deliver me to the right home.

Since 1999, The Pet Connection has found homes for more than 7,000 animals and rehabilitated hundreds of dogs and cats with aggression, fear and anxiety issues. We have spayed or neutered over 8,000 dogs and cats in our own free and low-cost clinics since 2002 and assisted another 5,800 pets with low-cost services since 2006. The Pet Connection was founded in 1999 in Mission, Kansas, to offer shelter for homeless pets, adoptions and training. We were one of the first no-kill advocacy groups in the Kansas City metro area and the first cage-free facility in Johnson County to offer education about available spay and neuter programs. In 2006, The Pet Connection relocated to a facility in Mission that enabled all dogs and cats to have their own rooms while awaiting adoptive homes or being rehabilitated due to behaviors that hindered adoption prospects. The Pet Connection currently focuses on pet adoptions, dog and cat training, aggressive dog rehabilitation, and classes for pet owners. We were the first in this area to offer free training/behavior classes to adopters.
The Pet Connection trainers and behavior members use a team approach in order to implement the ideas that have the highest success rate. Our five behavioral trainers working out of the Kansas City metro have a variety of backgrounds applicable to dog training and behavior. The Pet Connection implements positive reinforcement training methods, where the dog learns to face the trigger, but to respond appropriately. Read about our experienced trainers under “Meet the Team" on our website at www.thepetconnection.net.
The Pet Connection has always been committed to being no-kill advocates. We have been involved in many projects with local and national organizations to help Kansas City progress in how homeless pets are cared for and to improve the services that they receive. Our organization is a 501c3 charity in the state of Kansas, and has always provided thousands of dollars worth of supplies, including cat litter, food, toys, beds and dog houses, to other rescues and shelters.
