My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luxe is a beautiful boy who wants lots of love and kindness from a new person he can call his own. He is a sweet soul, whose behavior and demeanor suggest he was abused. Luxe has been with us for about 6 months and has quickly learned to trust and enjoy life. He is happy and friendly, and seeks out attention and affection. He loves petting, belly rubs, playing in his bed, leash walks, and just hanging out. Luxe does not like other male dogs, suggesting he may have had bad experiences with them in his past. When he misbehaves, he quickly and obediently responds to “no”, and is, for the most part, a good boy. He is okay with female dogs.

Luxe is a Shih Tzu mix and about 6 years old. He arrived overweight, but should trim down to about 15 pounds. He is otherwise in good condition and has good energy. Luxe can be adopted into a family as the only dog, or with another nice, calm, female, but no males. He is really a terrific boy who shows his love when he looks at you with his endearing eyes. Submit Application

The first step in adopting from Shih Tzu Rescue is to fill out an application on our website at shihtzurescue.org

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Once your application has been approved we will schedule an appointment for you to visit our shelter and dogs and take home with you.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract that must be completed and approved. We require vet and personal references as well home checks. Our normal response time is approximately 7 to 10 working days. Our Adoption Committee works very hard to place our dogs in environments where they will be most likely to succeed. Please understand that we have more applications than we do dogs and that if you do not hear from us within that timeframe, we currently do not have a dog who we feel would match your needs.

Our fee includes neuter or spay, all shots, and snap test for heartworm/erlichia/lyme. We take care of whatever their medical needs might be before they are adopted. WE ADOPT TO ALL OF FLORIDA AS WELL AS OTHER STATES. WE DO NOT SHIP
