My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Nat, an American male guinea pig who was born in the rescue on 1/9/2022 and was adopted out to a family who had to recently surrender me. I am currently bonded with my buddy Rueben and we must be adopted together. If you are interested in being my forever family, please go to the "ADOPTION" tab on our website www.ogpr.org and complete the REQUIRED 4 steps.

We ask for a minimum donation of $50 per guinea pig made to the rescue. One free wellness check at our specified vet is included with each adopted guinea pig

Go meet their pets

The Oakhurst Guinea Pig Rescue is based out of Decatur, Georgia. We are a foster based rescue so we DO NOT have a brick and mortar building. All of our guinea pigs live in foster homes and once your application is accepted, we will schedule a meet and greet appointment for you to meet and adopt a pair of guinea pigs or a single guinea pig ONLY if you have a single guinea pig that needs a buddy. GUINEA PIGS SHOULD NOT LIVE ALONE BUT IN PAIRS OR MORE.

More about this rescue

The goal of Oakhurst Guinea Pig Rescue is two-fold: to educate the public on the uniqueness and proper care of these treasured family members and help rescue and "rehome" the many abandoned guinea pigs right here in Georgia. Our web site contains information on proper care and links to our adoptable guinea pigs. We also love to help and give advice to families just starting with guinea pigs. If you have any questions, please reach out to us!
