My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pepper, a playful and affectionate kitty. Pepper is curious and always in for a good time, she'll join in on game nights, movie nights and more. She'd thrive with a loving person or family who enjoys cuddles and daily play. Pepper is great with dogs and would love a friend to play with.
All Tri-Valley Animal Rescue kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and preventatively treated for fleas and worms. A FeLV/FIV test can be run upon request for a fee.

If you are interested in adopting any of our kittens, please click 'Apply to Adopt' and complete an adoption application. An application is required prior to adoption.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Please browse our adoptable animals. We make every effort to keep our listings updated.

Each of our animals has contact information in the description - either referencing the phone number of the foster volunteer who is fostering the animal or East County Animal Shelter contact information if a shelter animal.

If you have questions, please use the contact information in the description directly. We attempt to forward emails sent to contact@tvar.org to the foster though it is not necessarily before the animal is adopted. Also, volunteers who monitor this email do not know the animals whereas the fosters do!

If a dog or puppy is in foster with TVAR, please fill out an adoption application (available here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TVAR/Dog). We consider each application and pick the best one for the animal in question. In general, we do not do out of area adoptions. Kittens do not need applications completed - just contact the foster!

If an animal is at ECAS, they have their own adoption process. Please go to ECAS (they are open daily 11:30am to 5:30pm except holidays) to meet the animal and learn about ECAS's adoption process.

All TVAR animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, treated for worms and fleas, and microchipped. Felines are FIV/FeLV tested. Many of our pets also come with a "packed bag" that can include a variety of goodies like bedding, food, toys, leashes, and even private training sessions with our professional trainers. Adoption fees vary by species. Our fee range is $120-$350. The foster volunteer can provide specifics for the animals in their care.

Go meet their pets

**Please go to www.tvar.org to check adoption event status before going** Dog adoptions take place at the Pleasanton Farmers Market, at the park on the corner of First and Angela streets, every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm. All of our adoptable dogs (and selected ECAS dogs) are available on our website and on adopt-a-pet.com.

Kittens adoptions take place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm at the Dublin PetSmart, pending availability. During kitten season (March to December), we have way more kittens than we could ever hope to post online, so come visit us at PetSmart to see our selection.

All of our adoptable animals can also be met/adopted by appointment made directly with the foster volunteers.

More about this rescue

Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). We primarily place shelter animals in foster care of TVAR volunteers while trying to find them permanent homes. Although we do not have a facility of our own, we help over 1000 animals find forever homes yearly through the hard work and dedication of our East County Animal Shelter shelter volunteers who socialize shelter animals daily and assist the public in selecting a pet to adopt.

We have a variety of volunteer programs including a shelter program and four foster programs. We are always looking for more volunteers - especially fosters. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please check out our volunteer page (https://www.tvar.org/volunteer/) for information.
