My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mater is a 1-2 year old Beagle who was adopted from us and returned . His owner felt that he barked too much and roamed--we think this is typical Beagle behavior, nose to the ground and on the move! He is current with his vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered , chipped, good with other dogs, good on a leash, chases cats, but doesn't do anything to them, just chases them. He does well on a leash, in a crowd and rides well in a car. He is not housetrained.

More about this shelter

Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter is a small, open door shelter. We strive to save every adoptable animal that is surrendered, orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected. All animals are spayed/neutered at time of adoption, vaccinated. All dogs are heartworm tested/treated at time of adoption.

All procedures administered to the shelter animals are funded solely on donations. We are in constant need of monetary donations to continue the vetting of these animals.
