My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Saving life one kitty cat at a time... The Newport Beach Animal Shelter received a call about a mommy and her seven kittens needing rescue. Staff was advised that it was mommy's third litter and the neighborhood was needing some assistance so that the cycle of homeless births didn't continue. Given the City of Newport Beach Animal Controls hands on approach, after receiving the call, officers devised a plan with the community that included 3 days to capture and ensure the safety of the entire family. The 4 week old kittens were located by the residents in groups of 3, then 3 more the next day, and then 1 sibling, the next day that had to be dug out by a resident from under a shed. Mommy was trapped and transported to the shelter for evaluation on temperament and, as it turned out, she is sweet.

Mommy, whom staff has named Priscilla, is available for adoption. Our lovely Priscilla is a quiet girl, that enjoys pets, loves her wet food and is clean and easy going. She would enjoy a home of her own where she is loved and cared for in peaceful surroundings. She is petite in stature and carries a gentle energy.

If you have been thinking of meeting a mellow kitty cat that will add sincerity to your life, Priscilla is your girl. She is a beautiful, domestic short hair, dilute calico cat that is approximately 2 years of age.

The Newport Beach Animal Shelter would like to thank the community for bringing this situation to our attention and for being part of the solution. We look forward to meeting with interested adopters that Priscilla's story has resonated with.

Shelter staff and volunteers are available every Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be happy to introduce you to Priscilla and our many other furry shelter guests when you stop in. The shelter is conveniently located at 20302 Riverside Drive in the city of Newport Beach. We look forward to seeing you soon.
