My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cheddar Bay Biscuit! Cheddar is a sweet 2-year-old orange cat with a calm and gentle demeanor. He enjoys lounging in the sun and is sure to be a wonderful companion in a cozy home. Though he may be a bit reserved at first, Cheddar warms up quickly and loves to be petted. Cheddar gets along well with other cats and dogs, making him a great fit for a multi-pet household. He would thrive in a peaceful environment where he can relax and bond with his new family.

Cheddar was adopted from MCAC in May and went to a great home. Unfortunately Cheddar was returned to us this past week as his owner was no longer able to care for him. He was very loved in his home, so this sudden change in Cheddar`s life has him a little confused. He`ll need a patient and understanding new home that will allow him the time to decompress and adjust to his new home.

Some fun facts about orange cats:

1. Mostly Males: About 80% of orange cats are male due to the orange color being linked to their chromosomes.
2. Social and Friendly: Orange cats have a reputation for being affectionate and people-oriented.
3. Tabby Pattern: Almost all orange cats are abbies, meaning their coats feature stripes, spots, or swirls.
4. Genetic Variety: The intensity of the orange canvary, from bright marmalade shades to paler, more muted ginger tones. This variation adds to their distinctive appearance. Cheddar is definately a more muted orange color
5. Cultural Popularity: Orange cats have been made famous by beloved characters in pop culture, like Garfield and Puss in Boots, which has contributed to their popularity

Though these traits can vary, orange cats like Cheddar often capture hearts with their strikinglooks and social nature!
