My story

Meet Zero!

When we first got him he was all white so we named him Zero after the Nightmare Before Xmas.

Now he has some cool markings and we think he’d make the perfect hero for your home.

Zero is a fun loving pittie mix currently he’s about 40 lb and 8 months old. He loves to play, chew on bones or curl on your couch and watch a movie. He’s also very good about letting us know when he needs to go outside and he also knows when it’s lunch time and he loves his food and treats.

He gets very excited when we put his harness on and when all the play is done he’s ready and
down for a good ol 'nap.

Zero is crate and potty trained and does well in his crate as long as he has a blanket to curl up in.

He's great w our 12yr old daughter and loves playing and gets along with our 4 other dogs.

All dogs are fully vetted, have age appropriate core vaccinations, and have been spayed/neutered and microchiped. 100% of the adoption fees go back to helping us rescue more dogs.

Our adoption process consists of an application, phone or face to face interview, home visit and reference checks. If you are approved to adopt from Tails of the Unwanted, you will be required to sign an adoption contract.

Our dogs are placed in foster homes around North Carolina and currently in the Concord, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point and Salisbury areas. We want our dogs to be placed in a loving and caring home and will arrange meet and greets with approved adopters.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue that networks and promote shelter dogs at risk of being euthanized at high kill shelters. If no one comes to their rescue, we step in. We are always looking for fosters and donations as well as volunteers so that we can continue to save the dogs who have run out of time at the high kill shelters.
