- Sweet Pea and Zena were rescued from a commercial breeding facility in Mississippi. They share a special bond and are looking for a forever home where they can spend their golden years together.
- Received comprehensive dental care through TLC
- Very timid around new people, relies on her sister and a specific "safe zone" for comfort, but shows gradual trust-building.
- Becomes affectionate and snuggly once comfortable.
- Protective and loyal once bonded; a very affectionate companion.
- Enjoys playing with stuffed toys, snuggling, and running in the yard.
- Comfortable in the car, prefers sitting on laps.
- Spends most of the day on a dog bed, enjoys lounging
- Likes her crate and will go in with the door open
- Frequently let out, now has minimal to no accidents, holds it overnight, and is starting to signal needs.
- Dog friendly - Takes cues from other dogs when it's time to go out, would do best with another dog for companionship
- Cat friendly - indifferent to cats
Overall, Zena is a loving and protective senior dog who thrives in a stable and quiet environment. She shows potential for deep loyalty and companionship once she feels secure with her human and surroundings. Her gradual adaptation to new experiences and people will require patience and gentle encouragement.
