My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sheila, a delightful female Shepherd mix eagerly awaiting her forever home. With her affectionate nature and sociable demeanor, Sheila effortlessly charms both humans and furry companions alike. She thrives in the company of other dogs, making her an ideal addition to multi-pet households. Sheila is currently living in a foster home with an active 4 year old frenchie, showcasing her ability to get along with smaller dogs as well as like sized dogs. Sheila's playful spirit knows no bounds, as she gleefully frolics with her beloved toys, spreading joy wherever she goes. Her enthusiasm for playtime is matched only by her unwavering love for treats, making her a breeze to train and a joy to reward. Being born in August 2023, she is eager to learn and treats are her favorite motivation. She prefers the company of older children who know boundaries, such as the teenager that she currently is fostered with. In search of a loyal and loving companion? Look no further than Sheila, a canine companion ready to shower her new family with boundless affection and endless tail wags. Apply today to schedule a meet and greet with Sheila at ITVrescue.org. Thank you to Central Bark for sponsoring Sheila's adoption fee!

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
