Zion is ready for adoption, and his personality is starting to blossom. Zion came from a home where he was kept in awful conditions and cats were allowed to breed freely in a home with one resident. He got little interaction at the beginning of his life, so adjusting to his new home here at the rescue has been a long process. We are so amazed to see him come out of his shell, and the other day he was letting a nine-year-old pick him up and carry him around. I was proud of how tolerant and comfortable he was in the room with her. Once he takes a few moments to get to know you he turns into a major flirt. He loves to purr and rub up on your hands. He will make the perfect addition to a home where his new family is willing to go slow but love him with all their heart.
Zion loves food and we have used that as an extremely useful tool to earn his trust. Despite all that Zion has been through in his brief life, he has managed to adjust well to living with us. However, he needs a loving owner who can give him the individual attention he deserves. We can't help but feel saddened by all he has gone through, but we are hopeful that someone out there is willing to take a chance on him.
